eMeals Appoints Julie Gunter to Serve as Senior Menu Editor

Experienced Food Editor Will Oversee Menu Editing Team for Online Meal Planning Service

BIRMINGHAM, AL (April 30, 2013) - Online meal planning service today announced the appointment of Julie Gunter to serve in the new position of senior menu editor, with responsibility for maintaining the quality and ongoing expansion of the menu team and recipe database used to generate more than one million meals per week for subscribers to the service's 54 different meal plans. Gunter holds a Bachelor of Science, Food and Nutrition from the University of Alabama and has had an accomplished two-decade career at Oxmoor House, the cookbook division of Southern Living, including roles as food editor, test kitchen director and recipe editor.

eMeals created the senior menu editor position to support rapid growth in its portfolio of meal plans, each requiring the delivery of seven dinner recipes per week and associated grocery lists to subscribers' smartphone or computer email inbox and personal eMeals page. Consumers can now select from classic and simple gourmet meal plans as well as low-fat, portion control, low carb, gluten-free, vegetarian, natural and organic, clean eating and paleo programs, plus the new slow cooker plan announced earlier this month. Breakfast and lunch options can also be added to any dinner plan.

Gunter will oversee eMeals' team of meal plan editors, supervise population of the company's proprietary MenuBuilder system to fulfill the entire roster of meal plans and provide continuing variety to subscribers, and ensure that every eMeals recipe is simple, accurate and appetizing.

"Today we need nearly 400 recipes every week to deliver our services. That number grows every time we add a new meal plan," said eMeals CEO Forrest Collier. Gunter's appointment marks the second expansion of the eMeals executive team in recent months. Aaron Kenny previously joined the company in the new position of chief technology officer. He was co-founder and CTO of before its acquisition by McAfee and subsequently served at McAfee as director of engineering.
