Vegan Meal Plan FAQs

What does it mean to eat a vegan diet?

Our approach to a vegan diet focuses on seasonal fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and plant proteins like lentils, nuts/seeds, beans and tofu. It avoids all animal-based foods, including meat, dairy, eggs and honey.

What’s the difference between vegan and vegetarian diets?

Vegetarian diets avoid meat and seafood but do not avoid all animal-based foods and products. For example, a vegetarian will eat honey and eggs, while a vegan will avoid both, because both are derived from animals. Vegan diets avoid anything derived from an animal, including all meat, seafood, dairy, and honey, as well as products processed with animals (such as Worcestershire sauce and white sugar).

Though it may sound restrictive for those accustomed to meat-focused meals or even dairy-laden meals, it’s actually the opposite, refocusing meals to highlight the peak of season with a boost from plant-based proteins.

Are there benefits to the vegan diet?

Research has shown that consuming fewer animal products and more whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds is associated with a decreased risk for diabetes, heart disease and certain types of cancer. A plant-based, animal-product-free vegan diet can be a healthy and delicious approach to eating.

Is this plan for everyone? Or just for those who follow a vegan diet?

The plan was created not only for those following a vegan diet but also for those curious about trying the vegan diet but looking for guidance. A meal plan can help you plan, shop and cook simple vegan meals your whole family will enjoy every night of the week. Our new Vegan Meal Plan does all the planning for you, providing seven dinner meals with a corresponding shopping list.

How much does the meal plan cost?
