Chicken Sausage Ziti

Ingredients

  • ½ (16-oz) pkg ziti
  • 8 oz mild Italian chicken sausages
  • ½ (24-oz) jar tomato-basil pasta sauce
  • ½ (3.5-oz) jar pesto
  • ½ (15-oz) carton part-skim ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Cook ziti according to package directions; drain and return to pot.
  3. Meanwhile, remove sausage from casings.
  4. Brown in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, 5 minutes, breaking up sausage with a wooden spoon.
  5. Stir together ziti, sausage, pasta sauce, pesto, ricotta, and ½ cup mozzarella cheese.
  6. Spoon mixture into 3 greased individual ramekins or a greased 8-inch baking dish; sprinkle with remaining ½ cup cheese.
  7. Broil 5 minutes or until cheese is browned and pasta is bubbly.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 small head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup Caesar croutons
  • 3 Tbsp refrigerated Caesar dressing
  • ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Toss all ingredients together in a serving bowl.
