Grilled Steak Tartines with Blue Cheese-Bacon Spread
Ingredients
- 2 (2-oz) slices multigrain bakery bread
- ½ red onion, cut into thick rings
- ½ lb flank steak
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- ⅛ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp pepper
- 1 slice center-cut bacon
- 1½ oz ⅓-less-fat cream cheese, softened (3 Tbsp)
- 1½ Tbsp crumbled blue cheese
- ½ cup baby arugula
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Brush bread, onion, and steak with oil. Sprinkle steak and onion with salt and pepper.
- Grill steak, covered, 4 minutes. Flip steak; add onion and bread to grill.
- Grill steak, bread, and onion, covered, 4 to 5 minutes or until steak reaches desired doneness, onion is tender, and bread is toasted, turning bread and onion after 2 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, microwave bacon on a paper towel-lined plate at HIGH 1 minute or until crisp. Crumble.
- Combine cream cheese, blue cheese, and bacon. Thinly slice steak across the grain.
- Spread cream cheese mixture over one side of each bread slice; top with steak, onion, and arugula.
