Crispy Onion Rings with Smoky Dipping Sauce

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 (16-oz) pkg tricolor coleslaw
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp barbecue seasoning
  • 12 slices Texas toast
  • ½ (18-oz) bottle barbecue sauce, divided
  • 6 slices Cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Whisk together oil, vinegar, honey, and mustard in a large bowl. Add coleslaw; toss and chill until ready to serve.
  2. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Stir together beef and barbecue seasoning; shape into 6 patties. Grill patties, covered, 5 to 6 minutes per side or until no longer pink. Grill toast 1 minute per side or until toasted.
  3. Spread desired amount of barbecue sauce on each patty; top with cheese. Let stand until melted.
  4. Stir together mayonnaise and ½ cup barbecue sauce in a small bowl. Spread desired amount of mayonnaise mixture over 1 side of 6 toast slices. Serve burgers on Texas toast with desired amount of coleslaw.

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tsp chili powder

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Bake onion rings according to package directions.
  2. Whisk together mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, and chili powder in a small bowl. Serve sauce with onion rings.
