Hoisin-Glazed Pork Roast
Jasmine Rice and Asian Vegetable MedleyIngredients
- 3 lb boneless pork shoulder roast, trimmed
- 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- ¾ tsp salt
- ¾ tsp pepper
- 1 (7-oz) jar hoisin sauce
- ½ cup water
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ tsp crushed red pepper
Instructions
- Sprinkle pork with five-spice powder, salt and pepper; place in a greased 5- or 6-quart slow cooker.
- Stir together hoisin sauce, ½ cup water, garlic and crush red pepper; pour mixture over pork.
- Cover and cook on LOW 7 to 8 hours or until pork is tender.
- (Shred and reserve 3 cups pork for Asian Pork Tacos recipe.) Slice remaining pork, and serve with rice and vegetable medley.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 1 (14-oz) pkg boil-in-bag jasmine rice
- 2 (12-oz) pkg frozen broccoli, sugar snaps and water chestnuts
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
Side Dish Instructions
- Cook rice according to package directions.
- Steam vegetables according to package directions; stir in sugar and sesame oil.
