Stovetop Ham Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 12 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg diced ham, drained well
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 Tbsp mustard (any variety)
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and keep warm.
  2. Heat oil and butter in a Dutch oven; add ham. Sauté 5 minutes until ham is browned; sprinkle flour over mixture.
  3. Cook, stirring, 2 minutes; add milk, mustard, and desired amount of salt and pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil; cook 5 minutes or until thickened. Stir in cheese and macaroni; cook 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
