Open-Faced Burgers with Balsamic Onions and Goat Cheese
Carrot "Fries"Ingredients
- 1 lb ground round
- 1 small clove garlic, minced
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 1 large red onion, halved and thinly sliced
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 6 Bibb lettuce leaves
- 1 oz goat cheese, crumbled
Instructions
- Combine beef, garlic, salt, and pepper using hands; shape into 3 patties.
- Cook patties in a grill pan or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat 4 to 5 minutes per side or until no longer pink in centers.
- Meanwhile, cook onion in hot oil in a large skillet over medium heat 10 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in vinegar; cook 1 minute or until vinegar evaporates.
- Arrange lettuce in 3 stacks.
- Top with patties, onions, and cheese.

- 2 carrots, cut into sticks
- 1½ Tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp pepper
Side Dish Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Toss carrots with oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes, turning occasionally, or until carrots are tender.
