Sprinkle steaks with basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Melt 2 Tbsp butter in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add steaks, and cook 5 to 6 minutes per side or until a thermometer inserted in thickest portion registers 135°F. Remove from heat, cover, and keep warm.
Meanwhile, in another skillet, melt 2 Tbsp butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook 3 minutes or until onion is tender.
Add wine and lemon juice; simmer until reduced by half. Reduce heat to low.
Whisk in cold butter, 1 Tbsp at a time, until melted. Stir in basil. Serve sauce over steaks.
