Creamy Honey-Lemon Pasta
Steamed AsparagusIngredients
- 1 (16-oz) pkg rigatoni pasta
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 Tbsp whole wheat flour
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup white wine
- 3 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- ¼ cup fresh basil leaves
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add flour, and cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes or until flour mixture is slightly golden.
- Add garlic, wine, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Cook 1 to 2 minutes or until wine is reduced by half.
- Gradually whisk in cream and cook, stirring occasionally, 3 to 5 minutes or until thick. Remove from heat; stir in cheese, honey, salt, and pepper.
- Add pasta; toss. Top with basil, if desired.

- ½ tsp salt
- 2 lb asparagus, trimmed
- ½ tsp pepper
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
Side Dish Instructions
- Steam asparagus in a steamer basket over simmering water 5 minutes or until crisp-tender. Toss with oil, salt, and pepper.
