Turkey Sausage Ciabatta Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 (16-oz) loaf ciabatta bread
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil, divided
  • ½ lb ground Italian turkey sausage
  • 1 (5-oz) pkg baby spinach
  • ¾ cup canned crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup chopped fresh basil, divided
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 (8-oz) ball fresh mozzarella cheese, torn
  • ½ cup shredded fontina cheese
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Cut bread in half lengthwise, and place, cut sides up, on a rimmed baking sheet; drizzle with 2 Tbsp oil. Bake 5 minutes or until toasted.
  2. Meanwhile, cook sausage in 1 Tbsp hot oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat 5 to 6 minutes or until browned and crumbly. Gradually stir in spinach until wilted.
  3. Combine crushed tomatoes, ¼ cup basil, and garlic in a bowl; spread on bread. Top with sausage mixture and both cheeses. Bake 5 to 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  4. Let stand 5 minutes, and cut into wedges. Sprinkle with ¼ cup basil and red pepper.
