Clock

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2½ cups all purpose flour
  • ¾ cup bread flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 (12-oz) bag semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook 5 to 8 minutes or until butter turns deep golden brown and smells nutty, stirring occasionally. Pour into a large bowl; cool 30 minutes.
  2. Add sugars to cooled butter and beat at medium speed with a mixer until blended. Beat in eggs and egg yolks, one at a time, until mixture is fluffy. Beat in vanilla .
  3. Whisk together flours, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended. Beat in chocolate chips.
  4. Shape dough into 2-inch balls and place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Cover, and refrigerate dough 1 hour or up to 3 days.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F. Place dough balls 2 inches apart on parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Bake 11 to 12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Let cool on pans for 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
  6. Store cookies in airtight containers up to 1 week.
