Pepperoni Pizza Braid

Ingredients

  • ½ lb ground pork sausage
  • 1 (13.8-oz) can refrigerated pizza dough
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 cup pepperoni, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and crumbly; drain well.
  2. Unroll pizza dough onto a lightly greased baking sheet, and press into a 10-x 15-inch rectangle. Cut 8 strips along each of the two longer sides, leaving a 3-inch space down middle of dough rectangle.
  3. Spread pizza sauce down center of dough; top with sausage, 1½ cups cheese, and ¾ cup pepperoni. Braid dough strips over filling, tucking ends of dough into top of braid. Sprinkle with ½ cup cheese and ¼ cup pepperoni.
  4. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.
