Eggs and Sausage in Biscuits Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 (16-oz) cans refrigerated flaky jumbo biscuits
  • 8 American cheese slices
  • 8 fully cooked sausage patties
  • 8 large eggs
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Separate biscuits and place on a flat surface. Top 8 biscuits with cheese slices. Top each with a second biscuit. Gently flatten each cheese-filled biscuit stack into a 5-inch round.
  2. Cut a 2-inch hole from center of each biscuit with a round cutter. Fit one sausage patty in each hole. Arrange sausage-stuffed biscuits in a single layer in a lightly greased 13-x 9-inch baking dish, pressing to fit, if necessary. Bake 15 minutes.
  3. Carefully crack one egg into each hole over sausage. Brush top of biscuits with cream and sprinkle with seasoning. Bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until biscuits are golden brown and eggs are cooked to desired doneness.
  4. Meanwhile, place cheese-filled biscuit "holes" on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.



Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 (20-oz) can pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 2 cups seedless red grapes
  • 2 Honeycrisp apples, chopped
  • 1 (10-oz) jar marachino cherries, drained
  • 2 bananas, sliced

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Toss together all ingredients in a large bowl.
