Seared Steak with Honey-Soy Sauce
Roasted Cashew Vegetables
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp water
- 2 Tbsp less sodium soy sauce
- 1½ tsp cornstarch
- 1½ tsp honey
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 lb flank steak, trimmed
- ¼ tsp pepper
- ½ Tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Bring water, soy sauce, cornstarch, honey, and garlic to a boil in a small saucepan; cook 1 minute or until sauce is thickened. Remove from heat. Divide mixture in half; set aside half for Roasted Cashew Vegetables recipe.
- Season beef with pepper; drizzle with half of remaining Honey-Soy Sauce. Cook beef in hot oil in a skillet over medium-high heat 3 to 4 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Let stand 10 minutes before thinly slicing across the grain.
- Drizzle with remaining Honey-Soy Sauce.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 1¼ cups broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- Reserved Honey Soy Sauce
- ½ cup unsalted cashews
Side Dish Instructions
- Bake 8 to 12 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender.
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Spread broccoli, peppers, and nuts in a single layer on a foil-lined baking sheet. Pour reserved Honey-Soy Sauce over vegetables; toss.
