Heavenly Orange Rolls

Ingredients
- ½ cup warm water (105°F to 110°F)
- 1 (0.25-oz) envelope active dry yeast
- 6 Tbsp granulated sugar, divided
- 1½ cups milk, at room temperature
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 2 Tbsp orange zest, divided
- 1 Tbsp kosher salt
- 5½ cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- ¼ cup orange juice
Instructions
- Stir together warm water, yeast, and 1 Tbsp sugar in a bowl; let stand 5 minutes or until mixture is foamy.
- Meanwhile, beat 5 Tbsp sugar, milk, melted butter, egg, 1 Tbsp orange zest, and salt with a mixer on medium-low speed until blended. Add yeast mixture, beating until blended. Gradually add flour, beating until a soft dough forms.
- Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface; knead 4 minutes or until dough is smooth and elastic. Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover loosely, and let stand in a warm place (85°F) for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Divide dough into 72 (1-inch) balls. Place 3 balls in each well of 2 (12-cup) lightly greased muffin pans. Cover and let rise in a warm, draft-free place (85°F) for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350°F. Bake rolls 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, and 1 Tbsp orange zest in a bowl. Brush over warm rolls.
