Homemade Beefaroni

Green Beans and Italian Bread

Ingredients

  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • 3 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 (28-oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2¾ cups beef broth
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook beef in a large, deep skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and crumbly; drain, and return to skillet.
  2. Add tomato paste; cook, stirring 2 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes and beef broth; bring to a boil. Stir in pasta, sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes or until pasta is tender.
  3. Add cheeses; cover, and let stand until melted. Stir until blended.



Side Dish Ingredients

  • 2 (8-oz) pkg thin green beans
  • 1 (13.2-oz) can refrigerated crusty Italian loaf

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Steam green beans according to package directions; season with salt and pepper, if desired.
  2. Bake bread according to package directions.
