Mushroom and Onion Patty Melts
Garlic French FriesIngredients
- 10 Tbsp butter, softened and divided
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 (16-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
- 2 lb ground beef
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 12 slices Texas toast
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 6 slices mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Melt 4 Tbsp butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add onion and mushrooms; cook, stirring often, 12 to 15 minutes or until onions are very tender. Remove from skillet; wipe skillet clean.
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Stir together beef, Worcestershire, and thyme; shape mixture into 6 thin patties.
- Cook patties, in batches if necessary, in same skillet over medium heat until no longer pink.
- Spread one side of each slice of toast with mayonnaise. Top each of 6 slices with a patty, mushroom mixture, and 1 slice cheese. Top with remaining toast, mayonnaise side down.
- Spread 6 Tbsp butter on outside of sandwiches; place on a large rimmed baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes or until bread is toasted and cheese is melted.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 (32-oz) pkg frozen French fries
- 2 tsp garlic powder
Side Dish Instructions
- Bake fries according to package directions. Toss with Italian seasoning and garlic powder while still hot.
