Provolone and Onion-Smothered Patties

Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Broccoli

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup thinly sliced onion
  • 1½ Tbsp olive oil, divided
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • ⅛ tsp pepper
  • ¾ lb ground sirloin
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¾ tsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • ¼ cup less sodium beef broth
  • 2 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Toss together onion, ½ Tbsp oil, salt, and pepper on a rimmed baking sheet; spread in a single layer. Bake 15 minutes or until tender and lightly browned.
  2. Meanwhile, combine beef, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoning in a bowl; shape into 2 patties.
  3. Cook patties in 1 Tbsp hot oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat 4 minutes per side. Add broth; cook 2 to 3 minutes or until done. Top with onions and cheese slice; cover and cook 1 minute or until melted. Serve patties with broth mixture.

  • ½ (24-oz) carton refrigerated mashed potatoes
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ½ (12-oz) pkg broccoli florets

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Heat potatoes according to package directions.
  2. Steam broccoli according to package directions. Sprinkle with pepper.
