Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 (4-oz) bars semisweet chocolate, melted
  • 1⅓ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Beat butter and sugars in a large bowl at medium speed with a mixer until fluffy.
  2. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Add melted chocolate, beating until smooth.
  4. Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  5. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended after each addition.
  6. Cover and refrigerate dough 2 hours.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F; line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Place powdered sugar in a small bowl.
  9. Roll dough into 1½-inch balls; roll in confectioners' sugar to coat.
  10. Place 2 inches apart on prepared pans.
  11. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until surface of cookies is cracked and edges look dry.
  12. Let cool on pans 2 minutes; remove from pans, and cool completely on wire racks.
