Steel-Cut Oatmeal with Toppings Bar

Ingredients

  • 3 cups 1% low-fat milk
  • 1 cup uncooked steel-cut oats
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • Toppings: dried cranberries, raisins, walnuts, almonds, brown sugar, honey, granola, bacon, strawberries, blueberries

Instructions

  1. Bring milk and 3 cups water to a boil in a large saucepan.
  2. Stir in oats and ¼ tsp salt; reduce heat to low.
  3. Simmer, uncovered, 25 to 30 minutes or until oats are cooked to desired texture, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in butter. Serve with desired toppings.
