Grill Pan Sirloin Steak

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¾ lb top sirloin steak

Instructions

  1. Combine vinegar, oil, syrup, and soy sauce in a large zip-top plastic freezer bag; add sirloin.
  2. Refrigerate 2 to 4 hours.
  3. Heat a grill pan or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat; sprinkle steak lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook 8 minutes per side or to desired doneness.
  5. Let rest 10 minutes; cut into thin slices against the grain.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ lb green beans, trimmed
  • 1 (15.5-oz) can BPA-free dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1½ Tbsp apple cider vinegar

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat; add garlic.
  2. Sauté 1 minute or until tender; add green beans and 1 Tbsp water.
  3. Cover and steam 4 minutes or until tender.
  4. Combine green beans, kidney beans, vinegar, and salt and pepper to taste in a serving bowl.
  5. Serve warm or at room temperature.
