Ingredients

  • 1 (16-oz) pkg bacon, cut in half
  • 8 (5.4-oz) ground beef patties
  • 1 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • 2 (8-oz) pkg sliced Colby Jack cheese
  • 10 to 12 bakery pretzel buns, halved
  • 1½ cups barbecue sauce
  • 3 Tbsp bourbon
  • 1 (16-oz) jar sliced dill pickles
  • Crunchy Onion Rings (recipe follows)

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp; drain on paper towels.
  2. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  3. Sprinkle patties with seasoning. Grill patties, covered, 5 to 6 minutes per side or until no longer pink. Top each patty with 2 slices cheese; let stand 1 minute or until melted.
  4. Grill buns, cut sides down, 1 minute or until toasted. Stir together barbecue sauce and bourbon; spread over bun bottoms.
  5. Serve patties on buns with pickles and Crunchy Onion Rings.
