French Silk Brownie Pie

Ingredients

  • ½ (14.1-oz) pkg refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 (19-oz) pkg dark chocolate brownie mix
  • 1 (8-oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (4-oz) bar bittersweet chocolate, melted and cooled slightly
  • 2 (8-oz) cartons frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • Garnish: grated chocolate (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Unroll pie crust, and fit in bottom and up sides of a 9-inch pie plate; set aside.
  3. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions; pour into crust.
  4. Bake 20 minutes or until brownies are done; cool completely.
  5. Beat cream cheese at medium speed with a mixer until creamy; gradually beat in melted chocolate.
  6. Gently stir in 1 carton whipped topping.
  7. Spoon mixture over brownies; cover and chill 4 hours.
  8. Spread remaining whipped topping over chocolate layer; garnish with grated chocolate, if desired.
  9. Makes 10 servings.
