5-Ingredient Sausage and Bean Soup
Grilled Cheese SandwichesIngredients
- 1 (16-oz) pkg ground (mild or hot) Italian sausage
- 1 (32-oz) carton beef broth
- 2 (15-oz) cans great Northern beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (25-oz) can garlic and herb pasta sauce
- 1 (16-oz) pkg tri-color coleslaw mix
Instructions
- Cook sausage in a large Dutch oven over medium heat stirring until browned and crumbly; drain.
- Stir in broth, beans, pasta sauce and coleslaw mix; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 6 Tbsp butter, softened
- 12 slices whole wheat bread
- 6 slices Cheddar cheese
Side Dish Instructions
- Spread butter on 1 side of each bread slice.
- Place 3 slices bread, buttered side down, in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Top each with 1 slice cheese and 1 slice bread, buttered side up.
- Cook 3 to 4 minutes per side or until bread is toasted and cheese is melted.
- Repeat with remaining bread slices and cheese.
