Brown Sugar Baked Apples

Ingredients

  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats
  • ½ cup raisins
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 6 Fuji apples
  • 6 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup apple cider

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Stir together brown sugar, pecans, oats, raisins, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  3. Carefully scoop out core from top of each apple; place apples, cut side up, in a baking dish.
  4. Spoon brown sugar mixture into center of each apple, pressing down firmly; place 1 Tbsp butter over each filled apple.
  5. Pour cider into baking dish; cover dish with foil, and bake 30 minutes.
  6. Uncover, and bake 15 minutes longer or until apples are tender and topping is browned. Serve warm.
