Chateau St Jean Pinot Noir
Ingredients
- 24 slices sourdough bread, crusts removed
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1½ cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- ⅓ lb thinly sliced deli turkey
- 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 3 Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Cut bread into 2x1-inch rectangles; place on a baking sheet and brush with melted butter. Bake 10 minutes or until browned and crisp.
- Meanwhile, melt ¼ cup butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add flour, and cook, stirring constantly 2 minutes. Gradually stir in milk until smooth.
- Cook, stirring frequently until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Gradually stir in cheese until melted. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Preheat broiler.
- Top toasted bread with turkey, bacon, tomato slices and cheese sauce.
- Return sandwiches to oven, and broil 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese sauce is browned and bubbly.
- Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
