Chateau St Jean Pinot Noir

Ingredients

  • 24 slices sourdough bread, crusts removed
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1½ cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • ⅓ lb thinly sliced deli turkey
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 3 Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Cut bread into 2x1-inch rectangles; place on a baking sheet and brush with melted butter. Bake 10 minutes or until browned and crisp.
  3. Meanwhile, melt ¼ cup butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add flour, and cook, stirring constantly 2 minutes. Gradually stir in milk until smooth.
  4. Cook, stirring frequently until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Gradually stir in cheese until melted. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  5. Preheat broiler.
  6. Top toasted bread with turkey, bacon, tomato slices and cheese sauce.
  7. Return sandwiches to oven, and broil 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese sauce is browned and bubbly.
  8. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
