Bacon Cheeseburger-Stuffed French Bread
Barbecue Baked Beans
Ingredients
- 1½ lb ground beef
- 1 (2.5-oz) pouch real bacon pieces
- 1 (10.75-oz) can tomato soup
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 (16-oz) loaf French bread
- 2 Tbsp butter, softened
- 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced Cheddar cheese
- 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded lettuce
- 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Cook beef in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring until beef is browned and crumbly; drain and return to skillet.
- Stir in bacon, soup, Worcestershire, and Dijon; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cut off top one-third of bread loaf. Remove and discard soft bread from bottom of loaf, leaving a ½-inch-thick shell.
- Place bottom half of loaf on a baking sheet; bake 10 minutes or until toasted.
- Spread softened butter over cut side of bread top, and place, cut side up, on pan.
- Spoon meat mixture into toasted loaf; arrange sliced cheese over meat mixture. Return to oven, and bake 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and top of loaf is toasted.
- Top cheese with lettuce and tomatoes; cover with loaf top, cut side down. Slice to serve.

- ½ cup chopped onion
- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup barbecue sauce
- 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
Side Dish Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine beans, onion, brown sugar, ketchup, barbecue sauce and mustard in a lightly greased 2-quart baking dish.
- Bake 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
