Apple-and-Mushroom-Smothered Turkey Burgers
Crispy Oven Steak FriesIngredients
- 1½ lb lean ground turkey
- ½ cup whole wheat panko breadcrumbs
- 1 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp salt, divided
- 3 Tbsp olive oil, divided
- 1 (16-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
- 1 red onion, sliced
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh thyme
- 2 Granny Smith apples, chopped
- 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Combine turkey, panko, seasoning, egg, and ½ tsp salt in a large bowl. Shape into 6 patties.
- Cook patties, in 2 batches, in 1 Tbsp hot oil per batch in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat 5 to 6 minutes per side or until done. Remove from skillet.
- Sauté mushrooms, onion, thyme, and ½ tsp salt in 1 Tbsp hot oil in skillet 5 minutes. Add apples; cook 3 to 4 minutes or until tender. Stir in vinegar. Serve over burgers.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 3 large organic russet potatoes, cut into wedges
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
Side Dish Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss together all ingredients; place on a greased rimmed baking sheet.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes, turning occasionally, or until potatoes are browned and tender.
