Herbed Tomato Tarts

Ingredients

  • 1 (17.3-oz) pkg frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 (5.2-oz) pkg garlic and herb spreadable cheese (such as Boursin)
  • 8 Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves
  • Balsamic glaze (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Unfold puff pastry on a lightly floured surface; roll each pastry into a 12-inch square.
  3. Cut rounds from dough using a 2½-inch round cutter. Prick rounds all over with a fork.
  4. Spread about 2 tsp cheese over centers of each dough round, leaving a ½-inch border on all sides. Top each with 1 tomato slice.
  5. Place pastry rounds on a lightly greased baking sheet; bake 10 to 12 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
  6. Top with basil leaves and drizzle with balsamic glaze, if desired.
