Salisbury Steak

Smashed Garlic Potatoes and Steamed Green Beans

Ingredients

  • ¾ lb ground beef
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced baby portobello mushrooms
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine beef, panko, and egg; shape mixture into 2 (½-inch-thick) patties. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook patties in a large nonstick skillet 2 minutes per side.
  3. Remove from skillet, and keep warm.
  4. Sauté onion and mushrooms 6 minutes in hot drippings or until tender; whisk together broth, cornstarch, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Add mixture to skillet; bring to a boil.
  6. Return patties to skillet; cover and cook 5 minutes or until patties are cooked through and sauce is thickened.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 (24-oz) pkg refrigerated garlic mashed potatoes
  • 1 (12-oz) pkg green beans

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Heat potatoes according to package directions.
  2. Heat beans according to package directions; season to taste.
