Grilled Steak Tartines with Blue Cheese-Bacon Spread
Tomato-Basil Salad with Balsamic Glaze
Ingredients
- 6 (2-oz) slices multigrain bakery bread
- 1 large red onion, cut into thick rings
- 1 lb flank steak
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 2 slices center-cut bacon
- ½ (8-oz) block ⅓-less-fat cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup crumbled blue cheese
- 1½ cups baby arugula
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Brush bread, onion, and steak with oil. Sprinkle steak and onion with salt and pepper.
- Grill steak, covered, 5 minutes. Turn steak, and add onion and bread to grill. Grill, covered, 4 to 5 minutes or until steak reaches desired doneness, onion is tender, and bread is toasted, turning bread and onion after 2 minutes.
- Let steak stand 10 minutes before thinly slicing across the grain.
- Microwave bacon on a paper towel-lined plate at HIGH 1½ to 2 minutes or until crisp; crumble.
- Combine cream cheese, blue cheese, and bacon. Spread over one side of each bread slice; top with steak, onion, and arugula.

- 6 heirloom tomatoes, cut into wedges
- ¼ cup torn fresh basil
- 1 Tbsp balsamic glaze
- 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- ¼ tsp kosher salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
Side Dish Instructions
- Combine tomatoes and basil in a bowl; drizzle with balsamic glaze and oil, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
