Caribbean Jerk Burgers

Oven-Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 2½ Tbsp plus 1 tsp Jerk seasoning, divided
  • 6 slices pepper-Jack cheese
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • Grated rind and juice of 1 lime
  • 6 hamburger buns, split and toasted
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded lettuce
  • 3 Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Stir together ground beef and 2½ Tbsp Jerk seasoning; shape mixture into 6 patties.
  3. Grill patties, covered, 5 to 6 minutes per side or to desired doneness.
  4. Top each with 1 slice cheese; let stand until melted.
  5. Meanwhile, stir together mayonnaise, lime rind, lime juice, and 1 tsp Jerk seasoning in a bowl.
  6. Spread desired amount of mayonnaise mixture over bottom buns (reserve remaining mixture for a dipping sauce for Sweet Potato Fries). Layer bottom buns with lettuce, tomato and patties. Add bun tops.
