Seared Tuna Salad with Horseradish-Avocado Dressing

Ingredients

  • ½ lb tuna steaks
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 (12-oz) pkg salad mix with lettuce, carrots, pea pods, cabbage, and radishes
  • ½ avocado, coarsely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1½ Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp creamy horseradish sauce

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle fish lightly with salt and pepper. Sear in hot oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 2 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Let stand 1 to 2 minutes. Cut into thick slices.
  2. Divide salad mix between 2 plates; top with fish.
  3. Process avocado, garlic, water, vinegar, soy sauce, and horseradish sauce in a food processor or blender until smooth. Drizzle dressing over salads.
