Sweet and Sour Barbecue Chicken and Snow Peas
Steamed Rice
Ingredients
- ½ cup sweet and sour sauce
- ¼ cup hoisin sauce
- 3 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
- 2 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 (8-oz) pkg fresh snow peas, trimmed
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 4 green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Stir together sweet and sour sauce, hoisin sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger, and, if desired, crushed red pepper in a bowl; set aside.
- Cut chicken into thin strips; season with salt and pepper.
- Cook chicken in hot oil in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring, 3 to 4 minutes or until just done.
- Add snow peas, bell pepper, and green onion; cook 2 minutes or until crisp tender. Add reserved sauce, stirring until heated through. Serve over rice.

- 1½ cups long-grain rice

- Cook rice according to package directions; season to taste with salt and pepper.
