Smothered Hamburger Steaks

Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 6 (8-oz) ground beef patties
  • 1 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2½ cups beef broth

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle patties with seasoning.
  2. Cook patties in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat to desired doneness. Remove patties, reserving 2 Tbsp drippings in skillet.
  3. Add onion and mushroom to drippings; cook, stirring, until tender. Add garlic; cook 30 seconds, stirring frequently.
  4. Add flour; cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Gradually add Worcestershire and beef broth. Stir until smooth.
  5. Add patties back to skillet; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes, until gravy thickens.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 (32-oz) pkg refrigerated mashed potatoes
  • 2 (8-oz) pkg thin green beans

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Heat potatoes according to package directions.
  2. Steam green beans according to package directions; season to taste.
