Classic Meat Loaf Burgers

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 (6-oz) can tomato paste, divided
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 Tbsp Dijon mustard, divided
  • 3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 6 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • Green leaf lettuce, shredded (or use iceberg lettuce)
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Stir together beef, 3 Tbsp tomato paste, eggs, breadcrumbs, 2 Tbsp Dijon, and Worcestershire. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Shape into 6 patties.
  2. Stir together sugar, lemon juice, remaining tomato paste, and 2 Tbsp mustard in a small bowl.
  3. Cook patties in a large skillet over medium heat 5 minutes. Flip patties, and brush with sugar mixture. Cook 5 minutes or until centers are no longer pink.
  4. Top burgers with cheese. Serve burgers on buns with lettuce and tomatoes.

  1. Bake potato wedges according to package directions.
