Gooey Juicy Lucy Burgers

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 12 slices American cheese
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 6 hamburger buns, split and toasted
  • ½ head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Stir together beef, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Shape mixture into 12 thin patties. Place 1 slice cheese on center of 6 patties, tearing to fit. Top with 6 patties, pressing edges to seal.
  3. Grill patties, covered, 5 minutes per side or until no longer pink. Top each with 1 slice cheese; let stand until melted.
  4. Spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on cut side of buns. Serve burgers on buns with lettuce and tomato.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 (8-oz) pkg kettle-cooked potato chips

  1. Serve chips with burgers.
