Spinach-Pasta Steakhouse Salad with Bacon and Blue Cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 slices center cut bacon
  • ¾ lb sirloin steak
  • ¼ tsp garlic salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh thyme
  • 1 (8.5-oz) pouch ready penne pasta
  • 1 (8.4-oz) pkg spinach, cherry, almond, and blue cheese salad kit (such as Dole)

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 5 to 6 minutes or until crisp; drain, reserving drippings in skillet. Coarsely crumble bacon.
  2. Sprinkle steak with garlic salt and pepper. Cook in hot drippings in skillet 5 to 6 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Sprinkle with thyme. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing across the grain.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare pasta and salad kit according to package directions. Stir pasta into salad kit mixture. Top pasta with steak, and sprinkle with bacon. Divide into 3 portions. Serve 2 portions. Reserve remaining portion for a future meal.
