Bourbon-Barbecue Turkey Burger BLTs

Ingredients

  • 6 slices center cut bacon
  • 6 (4-oz) frozen turkey burgers
  • ½ cup spicy barbecue sauce (such as Stubbs)
  • 2 Tbsp bourbon (optional)
  • 6 (0.67-oz) ultrathin slices Cheddar cheese (such as Sargento)
  • 6 (1.9-oz) hamburger buns (preferably whole wheat), toasted
  • 6 Bibb lettuce leaves
  • 6 large tomato slices

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 5 to 6 minutes or until crisp; drain, reserving 2 Tbsp drippings in skillet.
  2. Cook turkey burgers in hot drippings according to package directions, adding barbecue sauce and, if desired, bourbon to skillet during last 2 minutes of cooking. Top burgers with cheese.
  3. Serve turkey burgers on buns with lettuce, tomato, and bacon.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 (12-oz) pkg broccoli florets
  • 1 (5-oz) pkg baby kale
  • ¼ cup sweetened dried cranberries
  • ¼ cup roasted, salted sunflower kernels
  • ¼ cup organic roasted garlic mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Cut large broccoli florets in half. Combine broccoli, kale, cranberries, and sunflower kernels in a bowl.
  2. Whisk together mayonnaise, honey, vinegar, and salt; pour over broccoli salad, and toss.
