Herbed Mushroom New York Strip Steaks
Steakhouse Sweet Potato FriesIngredients
- 3 (8-oz) New York strip steaks, trimmed
- ¾ tsp salt
- ¾ tsp pepper
- 1½ Tbsp olive oil
- 2 (8-oz) pkg sliced baby portobello mushrooms
- 2 shallots, finely minced
- 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
- 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsp fresh thyme leaves
Instructions
- Sprinkle steaks with salt and pepper. Cook steaks in hot oil in a cast-iron or nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 4 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Remove from skillet.
- Cook mushrooms, shallots, vinegar, and lemon juice in skillet 6 to 8 minutes or until mushrooms are browned. Stir in butter and thyme; cook 1 minute or until butter is melted.
- Slice steaks across the grain; top with mushrooms.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 3 sweet potatoes, cut into ½-inch-thick wedges
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
Side Dish Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Toss together all ingredients except onions on a large rimmed baking sheet.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until potatoes are browned and tender, stirring after 15 minutes. Sprinkle with onions.
