Steakhouse Meat Loaf
Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Green BeansIngredients
- 2½ lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)
- 1 (8-oz) can BPA-free organic tomato sauce
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1½ Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp pepper
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl; shape into a loaf.
- Place meatloaf in a greased 5- to 7-quart slow cooker, reshaping loaf, if necessary, so that there is a ½-inch space around edges of slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on LOW 6 to 7 hours or until no longer pink in center.
- Slice meat loaf. Reserve 6 slices for Open-Faced Meat Loaf Sandwiches recipe. Serve remaining meat loaf with mashed potatoes and green beans.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 1½ lb organic red potatoes, cut into 1-inch pieces
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 Tbsp butter
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- 2 (12-oz) pkg green beans
Side Dish Instructions
- Boil potatoes in water to cover in a saucepan 10 minutes or until tender; drain.
- Return to pan; add milk, butter, salt and pepper.
- Mash to desired consistency.
- Steam beans according to package directions.
