Steakhouse Meat Loaf

Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 2½ lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)
  • 1 (8-oz) can BPA-free organic tomato sauce
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1½ Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl; shape into a loaf.
  2. Place meatloaf in a greased 5- to 7-quart slow cooker, reshaping loaf, if necessary, so that there is a ½-inch space around edges of slow cooker.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW 6 to 7 hours or until no longer pink in center.
  4. Slice meat loaf. Reserve 6 slices for Open-Faced Meat Loaf Sandwiches recipe. Serve remaining meat loaf with mashed potatoes and green beans.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1½ lb organic red potatoes, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 2 (12-oz) pkg green beans

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in water to cover in a saucepan 10 minutes or until tender; drain.
  2. Return to pan; add milk, butter, salt and pepper.
  3. Mash to desired consistency.
  4. Steam beans according to package directions.
