Smothered Hamburger Steaks
Steamed Rice and Buttery Peas
Ingredients
- 2 lb ground beef
- 1 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 3 Tbsp olive oil, divided
- 1 (20-oz) pkg frozen peppers and onion blend
- 1 (14.5-oz) can petite diced tomatoes with garlic and olive oil
- 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp dried basil
Instructions
- Combine beef and seasoning; shape mixture into 6 patties. Dredge patties in flour to coat.
- Cook patties in 2 Tbsp hot oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes per side or until browned. Remove patties from skillet; wipe skillet clean.
- Cook peppers and onion blend in 1 Tbsp hot oil in skillet over medium heat until tender. Stir in tomatoes, vinegar, and basil. Return patties to skillet, and cook 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
Side Dish Ingredients
- 1½ cups long-grain white rice
- 1 (12-oz) pkg frozen green peas
- 2 Tbsp butter
Side Dish Instructions
- Cook rice according to package directions.
- Steam peas according to package directions; toss with butter, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
