Ham and Spicy Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 (16-oz) pkg rigatoni
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 (16-oz) pkg diced ham, drained
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1 (28-oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions; set aside, and keep warm.
  2. Meanwhile, cook onion and garlic in hot oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat 3 minutes. Add ham and red pepper; cook, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes and remaining ingredients; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Add pasta, and toss. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 1 (10-oz) pkg chopped romaine lettuce
  • ½ cup Caesar dressing
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 (5-oz) pkg Caesar croutons

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Toss together lettuce and dressing in a bowl. Sprinkle with cheese and croutons.
