Oh So Good Mac 'n Cheese

Ingredients
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
- 2 cups small curd cottage cheese
- 1 (8-oz) carton sour cream
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 2 Tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook macaroni according to package directions.
- Stir together macaroni, 2 cups Cheddar, cottage cheese, sour cream, egg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Spoon into a lightly greased baking dish; dot with butter. Sprinkle with ½ cup cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, 45 minutes.
