Easy Skillet-Seared Flank Steak

Ingredients

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1½ lb flank steak, trimmed
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Rub garlic and steak seasoning all over steak. Cook steak in hot oil in a large cast-iron skillet 4 to 5 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing diagonally across the grain.

Side Dish Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • ¼ tsp garlic salt
  • ½ tsp lemon-pepper seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil 
  • 1½ lb broccoli florets
  • 2 carrots, cut into ½-inch-thick slices

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat 4 to 5 minutes or until crisp; reserve 3 Tbsp drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon.
  2. Cook onion, garlic salt, and lemon-pepper in hot drippings plus oil 3 minutes or until onion is just tender.
  3. Toss onion mixture with broccoli and carrots on a large rimmed baking sheet.
  4. Bake 20 minutes or until broccoli and carrots are tender, stirring once. Sprinkle with bacon.
