The Perfect Chili

Ingredients

  • 3 lb ground beef
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 (29-oz) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 (15.5-oz) cans Ranch-style beans
  • 1 (15-oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (14.5-oz) can beef broth
  • ¼ cup chili powder
  • 3 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (8-oz) carton sour cream
  • Corn chips
  • ½ cup sliced green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook beef and onions in a large pot over medium heat until beef is browned and crumbly; drain and return to pot.
  2. Add tomato sauce, beans, broth, chili powder, cumin, garlic salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes or until thickened.
  3. Serve with cheese, sour cream, corn chips, and, if desired, green onions.
