Oven Baked Garlic and Parmesan Fries

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, cut into thin 2-inch strips
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp dried marjoram
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • 3 Tbsp vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, julienned
  • 3 oz Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls, split lengthwise

Instructions

  1. Place the beef in a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix together salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, marjoram, and basil. Sprinkle over beef.
  2. Heat half of the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté beef to desired doneness and remove from pan. Heat the remaining oil in the skillet and sauté the onion and green pepper.
  3. Preheat oven on broiler setting.
  4. Divide the meat between the bottoms of 4 rolls, layer with onion and green pepper, then top with sliced cheese. Place on cookie sheet, and broil until cheese is melted. Cover with tops of rolls and serve.

  • 4 large unpeeled russet potatoes, cut into ¼-inch strips
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp ground dried thyme
  • ¼ tsp seasoned salt
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • ¼ tsp seasoned salt (optional)

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Preheat an oven to 425°F.
  2. Place the potatoes in a mixing bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Season with garlic, thyme, and seasoned salt. Toss until evenly coated. Lift the fries out of the bowl and spread onto a nonstick baking sheet in a single layer. Save the remaining oil in the bowl.
  3. Bake 30 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through baking. Return the fries to the bowl with the olive oil, sprinkle with ½ cup Parmesan cheese and parsley. Toss to coat, then spread again onto the baking sheet.
  4. Return to the oven, and bake until the cheese melts, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle the fries with the remaining ¼ cup Parmesan cheese and ¼ tsp seasoned salt to serve.
