Beefy Skillet Macaroni

Lemon-Parmesan Romaine Salad

Ingredients

  • 1½ lb 90% lean ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • ½ (16-oz) pkg whole-grain elbow macaroni
  • 1 (15.5-oz) jar natural marinara sauce (such as Rao's)
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown beef, garlic, and onion in a large deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat; drain.
  2. Add macaroni, marinara sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, pepper, and water to skillet; bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 25 minutes or until macaroni is tender; sprinkle with cheese.

  • 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1½ Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Side Dish Instructions

  1. Place lettuce in a large bowl.
  2. Whisk together oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Toss salad with dressing. Sprinkle with cheese.
