Spinach-Apple Turkey Burgers
Crispy Carrot Sticks
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp olive oil, divided
- ¼ cup diced red onion
- ¾ cup finely chopped apple
- ½ (9-oz) pkg baby spinach
- ¼ tsp dried sage
- ¼ tsp garlic salt
- ½ lb ground turkey
- 2 tsp coarse-grain Dijon mustard
- 2 whole-grain hamburger buns
- 2 lettuce leaves
- 2 thin slices tomato
- 6 cucumber slices
Instructions
- Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook onion, apple, spinach, sage, and garlic salt in hot oil 7 minutes or until apple is soft and liquid is evaporated; remove from heat.
- Wipe skillet clean with a paper towel.
- Combine turkey and onion mixture; shape into 2 (½-inch thick) patties.
- Heat 1 Tbsp oil in skillet over medium-high heat; add patties, and cook 5 to 6 minutes per side or until done.
- Spread mustard on one side of each hamburger bun.
- Place lettuce, tomato, cucumber and patties on buns.

- 1⅓ cups carrot sticks
Side Dish Instructions
- Serve alongside burgers.
